FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Eyebrow tattooing is a cosmetic procedure where pigment is implanted into the skin to create the appearance of fuller, more defined brows. Techniques like microblading and ombre shading can mimic natural hair strokes or provide a soft, powdery effect.

Microblading involves creating fine, hair-like strokes to mimic the appearance of natural brows, while ombre shading creates a gradient effect with a softer, powdered look. Combo brows blend both techniques for a more defined yet natural appearance.

A typical eyebrow tattooing session takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. This includes a consultation, numbing, designing your brow shape, and the actual tattooing process.

We apply topical numbing cream before and during the procedure to minimize discomfort. Most clients describe the sensation as a light scratching, and many find the process to be very tolerable. Pain tolerance will vary individually.

Eyebrow tattoos can last between 1 to 3 years, depending on factors like your skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Annual touch-ups are recommended to maintain the best results.

Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and blood-thinning medications 24 hours before your appointment. Refrain from tweezing or waxing your brows for at least a week prior. Detailed pre-care instructions will be sent via email prior to appointment.

After your procedure, you’ll receive specific aftercare instructions. Generally, you should avoid getting your brows wet, sweating excessively, and exposing them to direct sunlight for about a week. Proper aftercare is crucial for the longevity and appearance of your brows.

It’s normal for your brows to appear darker immediately after the procedure. The color will soften and lighten by 30-50% as the brows heal over the next 7-10 days.

During your consultation, our licensed tattoo artist will work with you to design a brow shape that complements your facial features. We’ll also choose a pigment color that matches your natural brow color and skin tone for the most flattering results.

We do not recommend undergoing eyebrow tattooing while pregnant or breastfeeding due to potential risks and the body’s heightened sensitivity during these periods.

We take great care in designing your brows to ensure you’re completely satisfied with the shape and style before we begin the tattooing process. However, if adjustments are needed, they can often be made during the touch-up session.

We recommend coming in for your first touch-up 6-8 weeks after your initial procedure to refine the results. After that, annual touch-ups help maintain the color and shape of your brows.

A deposit is required to secure your appointment, which must be paid via debit or credit card at the time of booking. The remaining balance can be conveniently paid via a Klarna link provided at the beginning of your appointment. Klarna allows you to split your payments into manageable installments, giving you financial flexibility.

Absolutely! If you’ve had your brows done by another artist in the past, you can book a new client service for your initial appointment with our studio. This allows us to evaluate your brows and create a custom plan to achieve your desired look. Please note that we do not offer touch-up pricing for brows that were done elsewhere.

At Eyecology Studio, we want to ensure the best possible results for our clients. Brows done by other artists may require additional work to correct or enhance, which is why we treat these as new client services. This approach allows us to provide the highest quality service and achieve the best outcomes. After your initial service at our studio, subsequent visits are charged as touch ups.
